A New Era in The Worldwide Advancement of Sahaja Yoga

As many of us had already heard, Shri Mataji has been progressively forming, over the last few months, a "World Council for the Advancement of Sahaja Yoga". The Council has now come into being and is made up of a broad cross section of Sahaja Yogis from every corner of the earth.

The Guru Puja in Cabella this year was the most auspicious occasion of the inaugural sessions of the fledgling "World Council". The excitement and sense of great moment was of course immeasurably increased by the marvellous and stunning announcement that Shri Mataji had also created a "World Trust of Sahaja Yoga" (of which the newly created World Leaders on the World Council are to be the Trustees) and a "Sahaja Yoga World Centre", which, as we all now know, will comprise our Mother's own home, the beloved Palazzo Doria in Cabella, together with the Puja Hangar and the adjacent land and buildings, as well as the house at Centrassi. All these She has most graciously and generously donated to us, Her grateful children, to act as a focal point for our global efforts for the advancement of Sahaja Yoga worldwide. The Centre will also house the Secretariat of the World Council.

The keynote of the three informal sessions of the Council, which took place over the weekend of 2nd to 5th July, was expressed in different forms again and again by the various Members: we affirm that our collective desire is that we should all act as "one body" and that we should always be bound together by strong bonds of Love and by our shared dedication to the task of fulfilling our most Holy Mother's Divine Vision. It was with humility and awe that the Members acknowledged their gratitude to Shri Mataji for placing Her trust in Her children, now in these difficult times, to carry Her great work forward into the future through the medium of the three new bodies created by our Mother: the World Council, the World Trust and the World Centre.

Again and again the Members stressed their sense of humility in relation to our most Holy Mother and, of course, in relation to our fellow Sahaja Yogis. The deep feeling amongst Members of the Council was that, of course, we are no different from other Sahaja Yogis, that we are all the same in Her sight and that our first task, as our Mother has always reminded us, is to cleanse ourselves and to strive constantly to keep our collective attention on Her Divine Will.

On a practical note, work will be undertaken by several Committees, which members of the Council have formed and whose tasks will be to coordinate and further our collective activities on a global scale. The Committees will seek the advice and consult the expertise of fellow Sahaja Yogis who are encouraged to come forward with their insights and ideas wherever and whenever appropriate.

At the formal inauguration of the WCASY on Monday 5th July 2004 Shri Mataji most graciously blessed the Council.

Jai Shri Mataji
